What is the physical layout of your offsite backup service?

RoyAl Technology Management Offsite backup is powered by a tiered, fault-tollerant, geographically redundant enterprise storage area network powered by Cisco, EMC and Dell. Our primary access point is in Dallas, TX and serves as the frontend that serves clients and accepts backups. Dallas features a frontend storage network with fast RAID1 arrays for quick uploads and downloads of recently changed data. The backend network is powered by a RAID10 storage network completely redundant for long term storage and archiving. Frontend data is synchronized with the backend SAN daily. We replicate all data to two geographically redundant data centers in Los Angeles, CA and Chicago, IL. These backend systems are powered by RAID10 EMC enterprise storage mainly used for long term archiving and storage and for backup shipping.

All data uploaded to RoyAl Technology Management servers is compressed and encrypted on the source system before it is sent to us so your data is never subject to sniffing (spying) or access. Our secondary SAN and off-site secondary backup sites have no Internet access and administrative access to them is heavily monitored and restricted.
